Daniel Miller, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Daniel Miller is President and Executive Medical Officer for the EyeCare Partners (ECP) Ophthalmology Division. He leads ECP’s physician executive dyad model, focusing on a collaborative culture within a growing national network. He joined ECP leadership in 2021 when CEI Vision Partners (CVP) merged with ECP. Dr. Miller has a long history as a Physician Executive having served as Chair of the Medical Executive Board at ECP, Chief Medical Officer for CVP, and Chairman of the Board for an eyecare management services organization.
Dr. Miller is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained medical and surgical retina specialist. Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, He completed a combined MD/PhD degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He was the first doctoral student at Ohio State to receive a research fellowship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His research on blood vessels, viral pathology and the immune system led to numerous publications in international scientific journals and textbooks.
He completed his Ophthalmology Residency and a Fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the top-rated eye hospital in the country. Following his fellowship, Dr. Miller served on the Bascom Palmer Faculty as an instructor and co-director of Ocular Trauma. Dr. Miller has performed considerable research in macular degeneration, diabetes, and vitreoretinal surgery. Dr. Miller has served as an investigator in 60 national clinical trials and has authored 60 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, who are both pursuing health care careers. His hobbies include golf, fly fishing and college sports.
